Confirm mechanical fit, electrical compatibility, optical performance, environmental limits, lifecycle status and supply terms before approving an industrial LCD purchase or replacement.

Quick RFQ checklist

  • Exact manufacturer and model revision, including suffixes.
  • Required quantity, annual demand, delivery country and target date.
  • Active area, outline dimensions, thickness and mounting points.
  • Resolution, interface type, connector model, pin count and pin assignment.
  • Supply voltage, signal voltage, backlight voltage/current and dimming method.
  • Brightness, contrast, viewing direction, color requirements and touch option.
  • Operating/storage temperature, vibration, sunlight and protective requirements.
  • Lifecycle status, acceptable date code, documentation and sample-validation plan.
Compatibility warning: the same diagonal size, resolution or LVDS/eDP interface does not make two panels plug-compatible. Connector location, pin assignment, timing, voltage, backlight, mechanical outline, firmware and optical characteristics must all be checked. Approve replacements only after engineering review and sample testing.

Lifecycle, replacement and sourcing risk

Industrial programs often run longer than a panel generation. Ask whether the model is active, mature, last-time-buy, discontinued or available only from remaining inventory. For replacement projects, provide the original model, photos of both labels, connector and cable, current driving-board information, equipment application and failure reason.

A proposed alternative should be recorded in a comparison matrix. Differences must be classified as acceptable, requiring system changes, or unacceptable. Do not approve a substitute based only on a distributor cross-reference.

Recommended sample validation

  1. Verify label, revision, appearance and mechanical installation.
  2. Check power-up, signal stability, color, brightness and dimming.
  3. Test cold start, high-temperature operation and long-duration operation.
  4. Confirm touch, cable, controller and EMC behavior where applicable.
  5. Approve a golden sample before volume purchasing.
