G150XAN02 V0 Display Abnormal Fault Analysis Report
Recently, our customer reported that a batch of G150XAN02 V0 display screens had abnormal display issues during the production line. After receiving the defective samples, we quickly conducted a failure analysis aimed at identifying the root cause and proposing improvement suggestions.
Problem description
The display screen was determined to have display abnormalities during the client-side line detection process. After receiving the samples, our company used the AU testing fixture for lighting verification to confirm that the fault can be reproduced and there are obvious abnormalities in the display screen.
Preliminary check
Firstly, the appearance of the panel was inspected and no obvious physical damage or assembly abnormalities were found. Subsequently, impedance measurements were conducted on key measuring points on the PCBA board, and it was found that the AVDD network had abnormally low impedance to ground, indicating the presence of a short circuit phenomenon.
Circuit Analysis
According to the circuit diagram, the key components related to the AVDD network include U201, U601, C206, C207, etc. We adopt a step-by-step removal method, sequentially disconnecting these components and continuously monitoring the changes in AVDD impedance to ground.
fault localization
When U201 is removed, the AVDD impedance to ground returns to the normal range, indicating that U201 is a critical component for short-circuit faults. Further analysis confirms that there is an abnormal hot spot in the circuit between Pin21 (VGHLX) and Pin22 (PGNDP) of U201.
Manufacturer analysis
We will send U201 to component manufacturers for in-depth analysis. No abnormalities were found in the appearance inspection, and there was no obvious damage to the internal structure after De Cap (opening the cover). However, through EFA (Fault Location Analysis) confirmation, there is an abnormal heating area between Pin21 and Pin22, confirming the presence of electrical defects inside the component.
conclusion
Based on the above analysis, it is confirmed that the root cause of the abnormal display is the abnormal internal circuit of U201, which caused a short circuit to ground in AVDD and subsequently affected the normal operation of the panel. Suggest strengthening the incoming inspection of this component in the future and evaluating the feasibility of changing suppliers or upgrading alternative materials.
