As a display device, it is very common to add the cover Lens on the surface of the LCD screen, such as glass, PMMC, PET, etc. It can be attached by double-sided adhesive tape, or bonded by OCA, OCR, etc. The optical bonding technology uses OCA optical glue or OCR material to make the LCD Screen and the cover lens being bonded as a whole. It can also be the bonding between the LCD Screen and the capacitive touch screen. OCA optical glue is a colorless transparent material with good optical properties, it can make a certain physical compatibility between the LCD screen and the cover lens. Using double-sided adhesive tape, there is air between the LCD screen and the cover lens or capacitive touch screen, it causes reflection of light, so the display effect is not so good. Using the optical bonding, the middle layer is a transparent OCR or OCA material, no air layer and no reflection of light, so the optical properties have been greatly improved and the display effect is still good.
Advantage of optical bonding technology:
1. Improve the anti-vibration ability.
OCA optical glue acts as a buffer between the glass cover lens and the LCD screen. The anti-vibration technology of LCD screen is mainly considered from two aspects: stiffness and damping. Toughened glass, because of its own stiffness, can withstand the impact of most external forces, and OCA layer buffer also reduces the stress to the LCD screen, to achieve the role of anti-vibration buffer.

2. Improve optical performance.
The middle layer of double-sided adhesive tape bonding is air, there will be light reflection, so the display effect is not so good. For optical bonding, the middle layer is no air but transparent dielectric layer that is optical glue, and OCA optical glue can prevent multiple reflections of light on different media. Therefore, the optical bonding technology can reduce the diffuse reflection of light, effectively improve the optical performance of LCD screen, and greatly improve the high brightness visibility and the sunlight readable.
In addition, the optical bonding technology can also prevent the LCD screen from dust and water vapor, increase the waterproof performance of the screen, and eliminate the water pattern caused by pressing the display screen. Compared with double-sided adhesive tape bonding, optical bonding cost is higher and it is no longer maintenance-friendly.
