AUO LCD engineering and procurement resource
Selecting an AUO panel requires the complete model suffix, host-interface limits, mechanical drawing, optical environment and supply plan. Size and resolution are only the first filters.
Start with the application, not a model list
| Application | Priority requirements | Frequent risk |
|---|---|---|
| Industrial HMI | Lifecycle, readable UI, touch, temperature and vibration | Choosing by diagonal size while ignoring mounting and cable direction |
| Outdoor terminal | Ambient contrast, reflection control, bonding, thermal design and sealing | Assuming panel luminance alone guarantees sunlight readability |
| Medical or laboratory equipment | Viewing, cleaning, documentation, supply control and system validation | Attributing finished-device certification to a loose LCD panel |
| Transportation | Temperature cycling, vibration, dimming, EMC and long supply | Approving an untested replacement from a distributor cross-reference |
Engineering selection workflow
- Record the installed model and complete suffix or define the new design requirements.
- Choose the native resolution and aspect ratio supported by the host and user interface.
- Match RGB, LVDS or eDP at the electrical level: connector, pinout, lanes or channels, mapping, voltage, timing and power sequence.
- Compare active area, outline, depth, mounting, connector position and cable route using controlled drawings.
- Set optical targets for luminance, contrast under ambient light, viewing, surface treatment and backlight control.
- Define operating/storage temperature, vibration and enclosure conditions. A bare LCD has no automatic IP rating.
- Confirm lifecycle, revision control, sample availability, MOQ and lead time at quotation.
- Validate an identified sample in the final controller, cable, enclosure and thermal stack.
AUO model examples
Use examples to narrow a family, never to declare compatibility. G065VN01 V221 can be screened for compact high-brightness projects; G084SAN01.0 for 8.4-inch industrial HMI; G101EAN02.1 for 10.1-inch systems; G121EAN01.0 for 12.1-inch equipment; G133HAN01.1 for 13.3-inch FHD LVDS evaluation; and G156HAN04.0 for high-brightness 15.6-inch LVDS projects. The latest model-specific documents govern every decision.
Common selection mistakes
- Dropping the suffix from the RFQ or BOM.
- Treating all 30-pin connectors as equivalent.
- Replacing LVDS with eDP using a passive cable.
- Using brightness as the only outdoor-readability requirement.
- Publishing stock or lifecycle status without a date and source.
- Skipping sample validation because dimensions look similar.
Request a technical quotation
Send the exact model or target size, resolution, interface, outline, brightness, temperature, touch requirement, quantity, destination and required date. Request AUO LCD selection and quotation support.
