AUO LCD Model Number and Suffix Guide

Date:2026-09-04

AUO part-number control resource

An AUO model must be recorded exactly as printed on the panel label and controlled documentation. A shortened family name is useful for search, but it is not sufficient for engineering approval or purchasing.

Why the complete suffix matters

Models within one visible family can differ in interface, pin assignment, timing, voltage, connector location, outline, mounting, optical stack, backlight and lifecycle. Punctuation and spacing may also be represented differently in catalogs. Normalize search terms, but preserve the manufacturer form in the BOM and approval record.

RecordAcceptable useNot acceptable for
Family only, such as G156HANEarly discoveryQuotation, compatibility or BOM approval
Base plus version, such as G156HAN04.0Exact-document lookup and RFQApproval if label and document revision still conflict
Full label plus controlled document revisionEngineering comparison and sample controlAutomatic approval without system testing

How to capture a panel identity

  1. Photograph the full rear label in focus.
  2. Transcribe brand, complete model, revision, date code and any customer-specific identifier into separate fields.
  3. Retain dots, spaces and suffix characters exactly; also store a normalized search key for retrieval.
  4. Match the label to the title page and revision of the datasheet and mechanical drawing.
  5. Record the supplier, inspection date and approved physical sample.

Examples and interpretation limits

Names such as G133XTN01.0, G133XTN01.1, G133XTN01.2 and G133XTN01.3 should be treated as distinct purchasable identities until their controlled documents are compared. Likewise, G156HAN04.0 and G156HAN04.1 are not interchangeable merely because the family and diagonal size are similar. Do not infer connector, temperature range, brightness or production state from naming syntax alone.

FAQ

Can punctuation be removed when searching?

It can be normalized for search, but the exact manufacturer form must remain in controlled purchasing and engineering records.

Does a higher final digit mean a drop-in upgrade?

No. Revision numbering does not prove electrical or mechanical compatibility.

Can two sellers use different names for one panel?

Catalog formatting can vary. Resolve the identity from the physical label and manufacturer documentation.

What should be sent with an RFQ?

Send a label photo, exact model, required quantity, application, destination, date-code limits and required delivery date.

Verify an AUO suffix

Request model, suffix and document verification.
